Pick a Door

Isn't it exciting how simple changes can affect our “auspiciousness” ! How a simple fan, bowl of water or lamp placed in the proper location can bring so much good luck or bad luck.

But what if what we’re looking at is the lot ? That is my first task at hand. I was to accompany a mommy friend who wants to see if the house & lot she wants to buy is lucky or not. My heart was pounding fast, I was excited ! Normally, the doctors or nurses would have a hard time checking my heart rate, I am one of those few people whose heart beat is so faint, it’s near to gone.

Whenever I go for a check-up before, they would do it over & over again just to count my “beats per minute”. But not today, today my heart is strong, its enthusiastic. That night as I was saying my good night prayers, I asked the Kind Lord’s guidance. “Lord let me be a blessing to others & let them be a blessing to them”.

The property was situated inside a nice subdivision. It comprises of townhouses. Define townhouses : 2 story apartments in rows seemingly joined together, sharing walls, ceilings  & roofs. The one we’re headed to was the last one on the right. From a distance it seemed like a property on a Triangular lot – not good. Upon closer inspection it was the townhouse unit before the triangular lot PHEW. It was a typical 2 storey unit, from the outside, but the 2nd floor compared to others was made into 3 bedrooms instead of 2. No room for furniture or anything else, just a single bed. Then the room in between the other 2 doesn’t have a window, rather hard to breath I thought, especially since we have a humid weather here in the Philippines.

Here are my negative findings :
  1. 1.    The house lacks proper ventilation. Although the ceiling is high, the living room, dinig room & kitchen is sharing 2 small windows in 1 wall.
  2. 2.    The door to the toilet is parallel to the front door
  3. 3.    The stairs or rather it’s back is parallel to the front door
  4. 4.    The stairs count is 13

Overall, it was ok, in Feng Shui terms – “curable” . I told my friend that the property was ok, some renovations here & there but nothing too major.

When night came, I prayed for divine intervention cause even thou the property was ok, it just wasn’t WOW material. Simply put, it’s the property that should be last in the buying list. I can just feel that there’s something so much better out there than that one. But I can’t just go with my gut feeling. I have to put some science, some feng shui & a lot of prayers into it. After all I don't want to give my friend bad advice.

Let’s start with the doors, let me share with you something very important about choosing a house – the main door. The main door or front door is not only the entrance to your home , it is also the entry point of energy. This said energy will determine whether the Feng Shui of your home is good or bad. Here are some tips for a “good” energy door.

1.    It should look solid and protective
2.    Open inwards
3.    Opens into an open space
4.     It should look out to an open space
5.     Main door is not be under a toilet/bathroom
6.    It should not face a stair case or toilet

Simple enough but believe me, at times hard to follow. And to think we thought choosing a sofa was hard enough J

Before I forget, there are also points of consideration in buying a house besides the location, the budget & make. It also includes the birth sign of the one buying, in this case, my friend is the FIRE DRAGON.

In my next post, I will share with you what I found out about the Fire Dragon, so if you’re born in the years 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012 be sure to catch a glimpse of what’s ins tore for you in the year of the Wooden Horse.
